Modern Methods of Construction

The countrywide demand for low cost housing coupled with Bowsalls’ aspirations to embrace modern off site build techniques has seen the Company develop its own modular housing brand known as ‘Housing for Humans’ with a major British blue chip manufacturer.

Our Drivers

Our drivers for building with Modern Methods of Construction have evolved through encountering all the inherent problems the housing sector faces today. As solution providers our volumetric build system saves construction time and costs whilst also addressing a number of key industry issues. These being:

  • The lack of housing supply
  • The shortages in skills available
  • A guaranteed high quality finish
  • Future maintenance liabilities

Our vision to revolutionise the way in which new future housing is delivered has finally been realised and our specialist Housing for Humans team is on hand to assist Registered Providers, Contractors and specifiers on the feasibility of ventures. These can be taken forward through our Construction Division on a design and build basis or Modules can simply be provided for our approved Contractors to install.

Cost Competitive

This visionary approach will enable Bowsall to guarantee to its clients an all-encompassing build cost per plot above dpc using its modular house type range. The build system offers value for money, manufacturing cost certainty and ensures that overall project delivery sums are competitive alongside traditional methods of house build construction.

Continued Improvement

We are currently collaborating with a number of Housing Association clients who have been supportive of our aims and they are looking to incorporate this style of product on future ventures. Our pioneering, flagship modular scheme is due to start on site early 2013.

More importantly the design of both our housing and apartment range offer clients the unique versatility to adapt these concepts to their requirements. This form of flexibility will give clients a suit of choices enabling changes to be made to:

  • Unit sizes to meet HCA and London minimum design standards
  • Fabric and renewable energy upgrades to meet code levels 3 to 6 of the CfSH
  • Meet the adaption requirements of Life Time Homes compliance
  • The internal fit out specification to suit RP’s tenure and the
  • Standard Elevations and Fenestration
